Roles and Responsibilities

As proud members of the Supply Chain Sustainability School, we actively participate in advancing sustainability within the built environment sector. This online learning platform provides valuable training on essential ESG topics, empowering our team and industry partners to adopt more sustainable practices.

An Overview of Our Sustainability Policies

Our sustainability policies outline how we manage the impacts, risks, and opportunities associated with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) topics. Endorsed by the KFK Board of Directors, these policies reflect our dedication to transparency and are shared openly with both employees and external stakeholders.

Our Policies

Transforming Spaces with Sustainable Facade Systems

“Acknowledging the impact of construction sector on the environment, we understand the urgent need to find more sustainable solutions. As we are leaders in bespoke facade solutions, in partnership with our clients and with our suppliers, we search for alternatives that enable us to limit our environmental impact”

Our Commitment to Quality

  • Committed to meet the expectations of our clients in the production of high-quality products, we have an established quality management system.
  • Quality is an integral part of our value proposition, and we are proud to meet the highest industry standards with the aim of continuous improvement of production processes, products and services. Quality is controlled and tested at every stage of production, from raw materials, through the production process to finished products.
  • Each facade system is tested for usability and safety in accordance with quality and regulatory requirements as well as clients’ requirements.
  • In 2012, our quality management system was certified according to ISO 9001, which confirms our good practice.

Sustainability throughout the life-cycle

We established environmental management system with the ambition to minimize our footprint by efficient resource use and waste management. From 2018 our EMS is certified by ISO 14001. ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Certification involves independent, third-party audits to certify compliance with environmental management standards. Being aware of the impact of the energy on the costs and the GHG emissions, we also decided to implement energy management system, which is from 2022 certified by ISO 50001.

DESIGN

We manufacture bespoke facade systems, which means that a large share of the facade’s environmental footprint is determined by the design requirements of our clients. Our project manager and design team work closely with the client to find solutions for reducing the impact on the environment while maintaining high quality and meeting specifications.

SUPPLY

Our supply chain is built of carefully selected suppliers with whom we develop long-term partnerships based on high-quality, delivery accuracy and sustainability vision. We ask our suppliers to provide EPDs for the supplied products.

ASSEMBLY

Energy used for processing of materials and assembling of facade elements in 2023. is 36,23 % from renewable sources.
We continuously optimize the use of energy by investing in new machinery and reusing technological heat.

LOGISTICS

Our competitive advantage lies in conducting the entire production process in a single location, eliminating the need for transporting materials to other facilities and thereby avoiding additional carbon emissions from such transport.

USE

In line with the clients’ requirements we are able to build facade systems that are energy efficient and reduce the need for heating/cooling, thus minimizing related GHG emissions. KFK facade systems are designed to be durable and have a life expectancy up to 60 years. During its lifetime, it is necessary to maintain the facade and its parts in accordance with maintenance instructions and technical regulations. The facades are designed so that these elements can be refurbished and reused. More than 90% of materials embedded into the facade elements are recyclable at the end of their life-cycle.

Reporting

By reporting on our sustainability performance we allow our stakeholders to hold us accountable for our social and environmental impacts.

  • We report on the project basis about our environmental and social impact.
  • We publish annually sustainability reports from 2025.
